Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?
The Brighthouse support page gives customers a chance to search for information on billing, online accounts, monthly charges and one-time charges. The customer service phone number for Brighthouse is based on your current area. You can search for your local Brighthouse number at http://brighthouse.com/birmingham/about/service-areas.
How The Penalty Fees Work
The customer service representative we spoke to informed us that late fees range from $5 to $15, but did not specify the reason for the difference in amounts, or which amount customers should expect to see on their bill. There was no mention of fees for returned payment or to reconnect services.
I Can’t Make A Payment
Brighthouse does not have any programs in place to help customers who cannot pay their bill. The customer service representative we spoke with said that they will extend payment for no more than 7 business days, but this is not considered a payment arrangement, and they do not offer this option to customers who are behind. If you cannot make your payment on time, your services will be disconnected shortly thereafter, and your bill will need to be paid in full before service will be restored. If you have phone service through this company, you may be eligible for discounted phone service through government programs.
Will They Work With Me To Pay My Bill?
We have reason to believe that if you call customer service, you can get a small extension on your bill, but you will not able to make a payment arrangement. Are you a customer who has dealt with past due bills before? Share your experience below to help our readers.
