This means you may be partnered with another subprime lender during the application process. Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?

There is a good chance you’ll have a question or two at some time during the life of your loan. If you need to contact the customer service department about your loan, billing statement or account, you’ll need to look at your billing statement for a customer service phone number. There is no phone number listed on the official website. You can ask the question through the customer service email contact us page.

How the Penalty Fees Work

There is no information on penalty fees listed on the Citizens Auto Loan website. We assume because the program is designed for subprime or credit impaired buyers that the penalty fees will be more expensive than some other programs. In some cases, subprime lenders will increase the interest rate on the auto loan if customers do not pay on time. Other penalty fees may include:

  • Late payment fee
  • Collection fee
  • Returned payment fee
  • Court costs
  • Attorney fees

I Can’t Make a Payment

Financial companies typically have programs in place to work with customers when payments are past due. However, Citizens Auto Loan program is designed to offer auto loans to subprime customers who are a bigger risk. This could mean the company just adds on penalty charges without offering any alternative payment programs. You need to call Citizens Auto Loan before your payment is due to ask about alternative payment options. There is no contact number on the Citizens Auto Loan website. You can find the phone number on your billing statement, or contact the company through the online email form.

Will They Work With Me to Pay My Bill?

Citizens Auto Loan is a subprime lender, which means the hidden fees may come as a great surprise for some buyers. Can you tell us more about this lender and how they treat customers who fall behind on payments?
