What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your Gap Bill

As many chain department stores offer store credit cards that supply rewards to customers who shop frequently, Gap has a reward program as well. A customer may sign up for a GapCard, Gap Silver Card or Gap Visa Card. Each card comes with a different set of regulations, and a different level of reward opportunities. Reward incentives can be a great way to score a deal, but they can also help debt sneak into your life. If you are more inclined to be a shopper naturally, the sale ads and email advertisements that sound “too good to be true” may be a downfall for your bank account. Upon approval of the GapCard or Gap Visa Card, you are eligible to save 15% off of your first purchase.

If you are accepted to receive one of these cards, you’ll be able to check your statements online (at any time), make payments online, check your rewards, and add another authorized user to the card. With any of these cards you will also get a notice in advance, informing you of certain sales or events that are coming to the store or online store. Every Tuesday you may get 10% off at Gap, Old Navy, and Piperlime. You will also get a special savings for your birthday.

A Gap Visa Card is accepted anywhere that Visa is accepted, making it double as a normal credit card, rather than just being able to be used at Gap alone. The Gap Visa Card lets the user earn reward points with each purchase he or she makes.

A GapCard (Gap store card) can only be used in the Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime, and Athleta stores. The GapCard allows the cardholder to gain points with each purchase he or she makes, using the card.

The Gap Silver card is only available to customers who spend $800 and above on their GapCard or Gap Visa Cards. The card/rewards are only valid in the same calendar year as when you were approved for your Gap Silver card. If accepted, you will receive all the benefits listed above, as well as the premiere benefits listed below. If you are eligible to apply for a Gap Silver Card, you can enjoy benefits such as: free shipping on all online purchases, 15% off Choose Your Own Sale Day offer, Free basic alterations on all Banana republic purchases, Exclusive toll-free Silver priority line, and Silver-only offers and shopping events like Triple Point Days.

Rewards program for the Gap Visa Card and the GapCard

  • 5 points per every $1 spent at Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Piperlime and Athleta
  • 1 point per every $1 spent everywhere else Visa credit cards are accepted (for Gap Visa Card only)
  • $10 Reward Card for every 1,000 points earned
