What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your ING Bill
ING is known as an investment company, but they also offer traditional banking services, including free online bill pay. The Electric Orange account with ING is a unique service that charges no overdraft or ATM fees. The service also offers free ING bill pay.
The Electric Orange account is an electronic checking account, so this service is not designed for customers who’d rather write checks than pay bill online. Checks are available from Electric Orange.
How to Pay the Bill
ING bill pay is available from Electric Orange. The account is virtual, so account holders process the majority of bill payments online. Customers have the option of ordering 50 checks for $5 directly from ING in case they need to write a paper check at some point. A debit card is available from Electric Orange, so customers can make payments without paper waste.
Pay your bills online: After applying for an ING bill pay account, you can pay your ING bill online at https://secure.ingdirect.com/myaccount/INGDirect/login.vm?locale=en_US&userType=Client&device=web. Payments are sent electronically whenever possible. If a payment is sent to a company that does not accept electronic payments, ING bill pay will send a paper check at no charge to the customer.
Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?
Have you seen fees, such as returned payment fees, overdraft fees and stop payment fees, that you do not understand? If so, you should review the ING customer resource page. For additional information, you can call customer service at 1-800-464-3473.
How Penalty Fees Work
ING bill pay is one of the few banking options that offer a complete list of fees online. The fees are much lower than competitor banks.
- Returned payment fee: If a check is presented for payment and the funds are not available in the Electric Orange account, ING bill pay will charge a $9 fee.
- Stop check payment: If you want to stop a check payment, ING will charge $25 per check. Not all paper check payments can be stopped.
- Overdraft line of credit: If you have an overdraft line of credit, you will be charged interest on the amount borrowed to cover an overdraft. This service is not available to all ING customers.
I Can’t Make a Payment
Customer service is available at 1-888-464-0727 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. every day. Contact customer service if you are having trouble scheduling a payment with ING bill pay. If you are having trouble paying your bill, ING does not work with companies to setup payments on payment plans or budget billing. You need to contact the customer service department for the service provider, not ING bill pay.
Will They Work With Me to Pay My Bill?
Yes, ING bill pay will work with you to learn the bill pay service, but they will not work with you to pay past due bills. You must contact customer service for the company before the due date or disconnection date to reduce the chance of late fees and interruption of service.
