The JC Penney Credit Services page offers a long list of answers to commonly asked questions regarding JC Penney credit cards. The credit service department is available at 1-800-542-0800.
How the Penalty Fees Work
The JCPenney Rewards card charges 26.99% APR on any amount that is left on the card after the 23 day billing period. There’s also a late payment fee if the minimum payment is not paid. The first time a payment is skipped the late fee is $25. However, if you miss two or more payments within six months, a $35 late fee will be applied for each missed payment. If the late fee is more than the minimum payment, the late fee will be the amount of the minimum payment instead of the $25 or $35 charge.
I Can’t Make a Payment
We found some complaints about fraudulent charges placed on JCPenney cards, but it seems like the company resolved these problems quickly and in a professional manner. No comments were found from those working on paying off overdue debt. We assume that JCPenney has handled situations like this in a satisfactory manner since customers didn’t seem to have complaints.
