What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your QVC Bill

QVC is a unique type of retail store promoting its products through television to viewers around the country and around the world. Online shopping is also available through the QVC website. QVC offers the same types of products you would expect to find in a high-end department store: fashion clothing and accessories, house wares, electronics, and more. QVC also has its own credit card available called the QCard. This card can only be used to purchase products from QVC and does not allow balance transfers or cash advances. There are no points or rewards associated with using this card, but customers with a QCard account get special promotions and sneak peaks at new products.

How to Pay the Bill

QVC accepts checks, money orders, and payments from your bank account. Other credit cards or gift cards are not acceptable forms of payment. QVC offers several options for credit card bill payment:

QVC offers an extensive QCard FAQs section. Fees, other than the annual fee, are not discussed in the FAQs. Customer service is available at 1-800-367-9444 for cardholders.

How the Penalty Fees Work

The QCard is issued by GE Money Bank, General Electric’s financial branch, which finances several other store credit cards. The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for this card is 21.74% plus the prime rate. GE Money Bank chooses the highest bank prime loan rate from the Wall Street Journal for figuring the APR for each billing cycle.

Your bill is due at least 25 days after each billing cycle closes. You will not be charged interest on your purchases as long as you pay the full balance owed each month. If you fail to pay the entire monthly bill, you will be charged at least $1.50 in interest. GE Money Bank uses the daily balance where your balance at the beginning of the day is added to any other purchases made that day. Interest is calculated by multiplying the daily rate by the daily balance. The interest is then added to the daily balance, and that becomes the beginning balance for the next day. Late fees are considered the same as purchases. You can see how charges can add up quickly!

If you fail to pay the minimum payment by 5:00 p.m. (ET), you will be charged a late fee. The late fee is $25 if you have faithfully paid the minimum payment for the last six billing cycles or $35 if you have failed to pay a minimum payment one or more times in the last six billing cycles. There is no fee for exceeding your credit limit, but your use of the card may be denied.

I Can’t Make a Payment

We contacted QVC customer service at 1-800-367-9444. To bypass the automated menu, press 0 for assistance. Our call was answered with no hold time. The first customer service agent was not able to answer our questions, nor was the person to whom he forwarded our call. Unfortunately we were not able to get any information on how QVC works with customers who are unable to pay their bills, but several forum posts mentioned problems with customer service, billing errors, and hidden fees associated with cards issued by GE Money Bank.

  2. I have been hospitalized since September 14th but I am now back at home
    . I have been working on my account to get thr balances corrected and to have a more manageable balance which I should have this all corrected by October 4th, 2014.
