How the Penalty Fees Work
Penalty fees will be assessed if you can’t make payment by the due date listed on your bill. Below is a list of possible penalty fees and amounts. Republic Services may charge different fees in different states.
- Late payment fee: Unpaid accounts will be charged a $35 late fee. The customer has 60 days to make payment before the fee is added to the account balance.
- Reinstatement: If your account is not paid shortly after the 60 days, service may be interrupted. You can reinstate your service with no additional fees by paying the account in full.
- Collection: You may be responsible for collection costs if you don’t make a full payment within 120 days of your due date.
