  • Returned check fee: Maximum allowed by Florida law.

I Can’t Make a Payment

If a coop member is unable to make the required payment on-time, they must call customer service. The agent we talked to told us there was a payment arrangement option to prevent disconnection, but information on the plan was only available to coop members. The phone number for the corporate office is 1-352-567-5133. Another payment assistance program available is LIHEAP. How to qualify for energy assistance with LIHEAP involves you contacting your local Department of Social Services office or National Energy Assistance Referral Project (NEAR) at 1-866-674-6327.

Will They Work With Me to Pay My Bill?

Withlacoochee River Electric seems to be a tight knit electric provider offering very little information on payment arrangements and energy assistance. If you have experience with this company, feel free to leave a comment or contact us.

  1. I have recieved a notice from David Callaway from WREC telling me i have to pay a increase of 420.00 per SECTION 106 OF THE sERVICE RULES REGUARDING security deposits we have 350.00 deposit now and we can not do any better. The person has set a presedent befor about not doing this so we are thinking of picting there office as unfaire to seniors. Also preparing a law siute on the company plus one against David Callawy My number is 727-485-6578

  2. I have mailed a money order for 50 dollars to the po box 100 dade city fl 33526 mailing I will pay the remainder of bill fri june 1st 2012 please let me know via email that this is accecpted as I cant call you at this time . thanks keith and nora malone

  3. I did not realize today was the 29th which was my final due date. Please forgive this error and do not disconnect my service. I cannot affort the fees associated with the disconnection. I am willing to put my bill on an automatic payment method from my bank to avoid future lateness. I can be reached at 813-545-9614. I damage to my home due to the storm which caused me to not pay attention to the dates this week.

  4. Are these idiots really this stupid as if the customer service comes here to make arrangements on your lateness, this is prime retardness at its finest. I cannot believe you two people would be that stupid to not only post your number here but actually expect that this is gonna save your ass from late payments DUHHH HOW FREAKING STUPID. I might call you and tell you how dumb you are. Gosh,is this the friggin human race. God help Us!!!

  5. I also received a letter from Gary Steele, Customer Service for WREC stating that persuiant to Section 106 of the Cooperative’s Service Rules and Regulations I would need to pay an additinal $385.00 deposit or my electric service will be terminated Nov. 13th. I have alrady paid a $350.00 deposit and think this is just ridiculous. If you don’t pay your bill, they will come and shut it off anyways. So why would they request another $385.00 from us. We have never in the past had our electric turned off, it might of been paid late but never past the late date. People are having a hard enough time just keeping up with things how can WREC take advantage of this with some statue. It just isn’t fair. I also had a business acct. for a short time and always paid on time. I think WREC needs to look at there bylaws and see that they just are unfair. If they had disconnected my service, I could understand a re-connect fee and possible deposit but mine was never disconnected and I just don’t have this amount of money to pay just to have it sit in a bank acct for someone else. I am with your Mary Scott we do need to picket this regulation/rule. My email is lcummings12@tampabay.rr.com if anyone else feels the same way or has gotten a letter like this from WREC.
