What To Do When You Can’t Pay Your Citibank Credit Card Bill

CitiBank is a well known bank that issues credit cards and other types of loans. In times of economic hardship, credit card bills are often the last to be paid, but on time payment is necessary to preserve your credit rating. Here is how to handle your Citibank credit card.

How To Pay The Bill

CitiBank makes it possible to pay your bill online, by phone, in person at Citibank branches, and by mail.

Pay online: For a Citibank credit card payment online visit: javascript:lnk(‘/US/JRS/misc/’) and login to your account. If you do not have an account, you will need to sign up before you can make your payment online.

Pay by phone: For Citibank credit card payment over the phone, call 1-888-CITIBANK. Follow the prompts to make your payment.

Pay in person: For Citibank credit card payment in person, visit this payment center locator to find a local branch near you where you can make payment.

Pay by mail: To make your payment by mail, send a check or a money order with your account number written on it to the following address:

How The Penalty Fees Work

CitiBank applies a wide range of fees to customers on a monthly and a non-recurring basis, including, late payment fees, returned check fees, overdraft fees and insufficient funds fees. The amount of the fees vary depending on the location of the financial institution.

I Can’t Make A Payment

If you cannot make a payment on time, you will need to contact customer service. You may not be able to get a payment extension, but you may be able to get your payments covered under the PaymentAid service, if you’ve signed up and your hardship qualifies. PaymentAid costs 87 cents per $100 on your credit card balance and is charged every month after a 30-day trial. It covers your credit card payment if you lose income as a result of job loss, short-term disability, family leave, called to duty, or hospitalization. Otherwise, there are consumer credit counselors who will work with you to keep your account in good standing so your credit rating does not see much negativity. Some Citibank credit cards come with the option to set your own due date based on the time of the month that is best for you.

Will They Work With Me To Pay My Bill?

CitiBank will work with you to a degree to make sure your account stays in good standing. They would rather make a payment agreement with you than have to charge the account off all together for non-payment and send it to collections.   1. I have tried to get help Citi card how do I get help with out losing my credit. I just need a little help. My house is up for sale been since last April. I make $971.00 a month instead of $3,000.00 I was injured at work total disability since February 2012. Thank You for your help

    Solution: Cancel Citi card!

  3. I never received my April bank statement. I called and paid. I don’t want a late charge on something I never got!!

  4. I need to talk to a live person. I had a dispute on a charge. I didn’t realize that Citibank issues a credit while the issue is being resolved. The issue was partially resolved. The credit was withdrawn, no problem, sent a check (cashed) to cover the new balance. Got statement that I might have a late payment. 605.692.6698

    Disputed amount $589.67, total bill end of March $610.87, paid $610.87 where is the problem?

    I know no one will ever answer, but I’ve done what I can do. My personal banker will understand and support me with any bad credit accusations.
