What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your Verizon Bill

Verizon is one of the leading cell phone companies in the United States. After acquiring rights to sell the Apple iPhone, customers started flocking from AT&T to Verizon for better coverage and faster Internet speeds. Verizon, though more reliable, tends to cost more than AT&T and other cell phone companies. When it comes to paying your pas due Verizon cell phone bill, it is best to contact customer service immediately. If your account remains past due, they will shut off your cell phone service and require full payment with a reconnect fee to be paid before your service is resumed.

How to Pay the Bill

From the front page of the Verizon website, customers have a difficult time finding payment options. We managed to find a link to the Billing Center after searching online, but no such link exists on the Verizon website.

Pay online: Customers can register for online account access in just a few seconds. From your online account, you can pay your Verizon bill online at

Pay by mail: You need to check your Verizon bill for the address to your local payment center. Payment centers are located throughout the United States. If you are unable to find your bill and need to make a payment, you can use one of the following addresses. The number for customer service to verify the best mailing address is 1-800-922-0204.

How the Penalty Fees Work

Verizon will assess late payment fees and disconnect fees if you can’t pay your bill, in some states. According to the customer service department, some states do not allow late payment fees.

  1. I have a check for $4,990 made out to me, but I can’t find a bank to cash it around here. The cashiers check is from first financial bank and apperantly they don’t have a branch here in Sacramento. So, I need to wait til Monday to cash it and pay my phone bill…. Please understand I’m trying the best I can…. Please don’t turn off my phone;(

  2. I tried several times to make payment arrangements to verizon, and i just kept getting put on hold. I offered to make small payments, but it wasn’t enough for them. My husband had just passed away, and I was waiting for a survivor benefits check to kick in. So they cut off my phones and I lost all data, voice mails of his voice, and all photos. I still cant pay the bill in full but need my phones back! please help? Sincerely, JT

I see this some what old but here goes . in my case i need the billing date changed on my fios account they won’r so two to three month out of the year I am going to late no way around it whwn i am i have to fight them over late fees which very annoying when they fix some how offer billing due date changes of all my bills i pay they are the only ones that will not change my due date .

  4. I too tried to make arrangements with Verizon wireless but the refused to accept payments, even though I paid them and owed them 2 months now they seek outrageous amount to unsuspected my phone where do they get off to charge people ridiculous fees.that is what kills people.

  6. i have an 800 number from verizon i have had for 15 years, that was always forwarded to my cell phone. My cell phone got SPOOFED from Nigerians out in lagos, nigeria so my number had to be disconnected, Verizon gave me a new number to forward my 800 number to, now verizon cant find my 800 number they say it was GIVEN to FRONTIER,FRONTIER has no record of the 800 number or the account number that goes with it. But i still get billed by verizon out of trenton new jersey and the bill is paid monthly and deposited by verizon monthly…wtf?
